Preparing Your Baseball Team Mentally For the Big Game

October 10th, 2008

An all star or travel team’s verizon conference call state is a major contributing factor of whether or not they reach their goals. Whether the opponent is weak or strong if your team believes they student loan consolidators win they will be up for the game. Coaches sometimes mistakenly try to pump their team up for a big game. I believe players (and coaches) should treat each game the same. Provided that you prepared them physically through solid practice… medications they believe they are good enough to be successful that is all the game prep they need.

When coaches tell players that they have to “play the best game they can in order to win” that’s when teams usually get into trouble. When players try to push it past what they are able to do… that’s when you start to see the mistakes. Good teams lose because most players don’t react well to pressure from parents mortgage co coaches. Kids will “check out” when you put it in their minds that they have to perform flawlessly to succeed… that they have to play the best game possible.

So what to do? Keep it light but focused. Reinforce that they are a good team. Tell that player who’s struggling at the plate that “you know he’s trying hard… relax, have fun and the hits will come”. If you’ve practiced and prepared your team for the big game then they are ready. After that the two “C’s” are the most important factors to success.. Concentration & Confidence. So before the big game lighten things up with a fun team activity and think of creative ways to bring out the two “C’s”. Then rest assured you are giving them the best prep you can.

Why Alpaca Fiber Is So Valuable

October 9th, 2008

Thermal clothing for winter sports, such as skiing, back-packing, mount climbing, hiking, camping, and hunting is frequently contains synthetic fibers with semi-hollow cores. That’s because hollow core consolidation loan stafford student weighs less than the endowment policy sales diameter of solid core fiber, such as wool. Because semi-hollow fiber traps air in its core, the fabric warms up quickly, yet is more lightweight than fabric made from solid-core fiber, such as sheep’s wool. Such thermal winter clothing is highly prized by winter outdoor enthusiasts.

Not only is alpaca fiber semi-hollow, but it is renowned for its wonderful fineness that outmatches many of the micro-fiber synthetics. The fineness of alpaca fiber makes it very soft to the touch. It has no itchiness, such as sheep’s wool. Unlike synthetically engineered micro-fiber, which is frequently made from petroleum; alpaca fiber is produced by living animals. As such, producing alpaca fiber is gentle on the environment.

Alpacas are sheared once a year, like sheep. So you don’t have to slaughter alpacas to harvest their fleece. This makes alpaca fiber production to be a sustainable process. In addition, alpaca manure is a valuable fertilizer by-product that can enrich the soil.

Moisture Wicking

Much of today’s high-end thermal fiber has moisture wicking properties. Wicking and absorbing moisture are different properties. A paper towel absorbs moisture. It keeps taking in moisture until it becomes saturated and is very wet. Wicking is when the fabric transports moisture away from its source to the outside of the fabric, where it is able to evaporate. Because wool and cotton are very absorbent and do not have good wicking properties, many people complain that their feet sweat or feel wet in wool or cotton socks. In addition, winter sweating in clothing made from cotton or wool will make you that much colder. However, alpaca fiber has low moisture absorbency with great wicking properties, resulting in greater comfort and warmth. For example, alpaca socks will keep your feet much warmer than wool socks.

Alpaca Fiber is Hypoallergenic

Unlike wool, alpaca fleece contains no lanolin. So it requires no special chemical and scouring agents to remove fatty lanolin. Many people who are allergic to wool can comfortably wear alpaca fiber next to their skin.

Alpaca fiber typically is about 22 microns in diameter. (There are 25,000 microns in an inch.) Such a fine micron count makes alpaca fiber very soft. The softness of alpaca over wool of the same micron count is due to a scale height of 0.4 micron for alpaca free auto insurance quotes 0.8 micron for wool. If you compare an alpaca fiber to a wool fiber under a microscope, the surface of the alpaca fiber will be smooth, but the wool fiber will appear to have scales. The lower scale height of alpaca fiber creates a smoother, slippery feel with a less scratchy surface. The flatter scales on alpaca fiber makes it softer, less itchy than Merino sheep wool of the same fineness.

So when you shop for winter clothing look for luxuriously

Virginia Lyons owns Able Oaks Ranch Alpacas in East Texas. She has been breeding and raising elite alpacas and miniature llamas with persistently fine fiber since 2003. Virginia is an experienced weaver and teaches mortgagerefinance and hosts free events about alpaca ranching, alpaca fiber, and much more.

3 Simple Strategies To Build Your Home-Based Business Faster And Easier

October 7th, 2008

One of the biggest mistakes new home-based contraceptives owners make is trying to do everything from square one.

You can rest assured that whatever you are attempting to do or build, it has already been done.

Sure, it probably won’t be gyco car insurance mirror image of what you’re doing, but it will have many of the same basic ingredients.

The fastest and easiest way to get your business going and growing is by finding others who have already done what you want to do and learning and benefiting from their efforts.

A local business person recently told me he was in the process of building car insurance for autoresponder. Of course, this wouldn’t be a strange thing to be doing if it was a service he plans to sell, but it has nothing to do with his business!

Instead of investing a few hours to explore those autoresponders already in existence, he is investing well more than a hundred hours trying to build one on his own so he can communicate with his customers.

By conducting only a couple of hours research, he would have discovered a variety of outstanding, affordable autoresponder services that are highly sophisticated and subject to continual upgrading and improvement to keep up with ever-changing technology and consumer needs.

Imagine the kind of business he could have generated for himself if he focused those one hundred plus hours acquiring new customers for his business and expanding and improving on his products and services!

Unfortunately, like him, many new home business owners are still of the employee Homeowner consolidation loans — that they have to work relentlessly and do everything alone.

They haven’t yet developed the entrepreneurial mindset that understands you have to work smarter, not harder.

Another time-consuming task many new business owners take on is spending hours, even days, trying to design the perfect logo. I’m embarrassed to say I spent DAYS searching the Internet for sample logos, looking for ideas, then sitting and drawing possible logo after logo.

Most people have more creative flair in their big toe than I have in my entire body, yet I thought that if I put enough time into it, even though it meant not focusing on increasing business, the perfect logo would reveal itself.

I eventually abandoned the obsession and as soon as I handed the project over to my web designer, I had a new, effective and eye-catching logo within 24 hours.

It was a costly mistake. I had spent so many years working in a support capacity that I didn’t know how to make the shift to a leader capacity and delegate the task.

(Even more important, I later realized, having a logo is waaaay down on the priority scale and doesn’t even have to be considered during the start-up period.)

As you are starting your business, consider the following tasks and ask yourself if someone else could be doing them while you focus on building:

- designing brochures and marketing material

- creating your web site

- setting up your voice mail and e-mail

- purchasing supplies and equipment

- stuffing envelopes and taking them to the post office, or delivering flyers

- market research

- hooking up your new computer, modem, fax and installing software

- trouble shooting computer problems

- writing articles, reports or white papers

These are not revenue generating activities and if you find them challenging or time-consuming, delegate these tasks to someone else like a family member, co-op student or part-time assistant.

For the more specialized items, seek the input of a mastermind member or business colleague on how they handle those responsibilities. Also, hire or barter with experts in marketing, web design and technology.

Another wheel you don’t need to re-invent is that of processes, particularly in the area of marketing.

Marketing may not be your forté, yet it is the most important element of your business, and this is where many new home business owners bury themselves.

The good news is you don’t have to develop your marketing process by trial and error.

Commit several days to studying other businesses both in and outside of your industry.

How do they promote themselves? How do they collect leads? How do they convert leads?

In other words, how do they catch the attention of potential customers, get them to express an interest to learn more, and how do they get them to ultimately pull out their wallets and buy?

The quickest and easiest way to create winning processes is to study already successful businesses, then model what they do.

Sign up for their newsletters and request additional information. Let them begin a courtship with you and pay attention to what they’re doing. Buy a product or two and see what tools they use to keep inviting you back for more.

This doesn’t mean copy them word for word or action by action, but assimilate what works, mould it to your specific business and add the essential ingredient of uniqueness that allows you to stand out from the crowd.

These are just three simple strategies you can start with today to get on the fast-track to home business success.

Again, here they are in a nutshell:

1. Uncover what has already been created or invented, then implement or install. Don’t reinvent the wheel.

2. Think like a business owner, not an employee. Delegate, hire or trade.

3. Model the processes of others who have already achieved the level of success you’re seeking. They’ve already made the mistakes for you and know what works.

Incorporate these strategies and you will shave hours and dollars from your start-up curve and begin reaping the rewards faster than you ever thought possible.

What’s Contagious in Your Business?

October 4th, 2008

Ever get frustrated because it seems that when one person in your office gets sick, everyone gets sick? The person next gieco auto insurance cheapest loan rates comes down with the school loans consolidation and the next thing you know you’re at home calling your manager to let her know you will not be in today. Working so close with other people, we tend to catch everything that is going around. So how can you use this to your advantage as a leader? Do you know that people are taking home your ‘attitude’ compare auto insurance quotes day?

There’s a great leadership book titled ‘Primal Leadership’, that goes into great detail about how, as leaders, we share our behaviors, attitude, and enthusiasm with everyone around us. To emphasize this point, the book talks about a study that was done using subjects that are in an interview room. When a person comes into the room, filled with lots of cash for structured settlement and enthusiasm, the person across the table will actually begin to ‘mirror’ the same physical attributes. Heart rate, blood pressure, as well as external behaviors begin to change and more closely match that of this person. The same effect occurs when a very low energy, negative person engaged with the interviewer.

So what effect do you have as the leader of your team. Your team members look to you for guidance and support, and your behavior has more impact on them than any other person they come into contact with. If you are looking for ways to energize your team, make them more positive and productive simply by demonstrating the energy level and enthusiasm yourself. I’ve often times observed this happen when a new supervisor joins a team, and over a short period of time the team seems to be transformed.

We have what is referred to as an ‘open system’ that relies on external sources to determine our behaviors and emotions. We look to other resources such as people, books, etc to shape what and how we feel about things around us. As a leader, there is an urgent need to take a look at what you are sharing with those around you. Do you change people for the better? Do you excite your team to want to perform better? To support the customer well beyond what is expected? Or, do you tend to bring them down to a lower energy level?

Simple things like saying good morning to everyone when you arrive, smile every chance you get, and share positive, encouraging words with your team every day will spread a positive tone. Be what you want to see!! Find others that will share their energy with the team. One by one, encourage optimism and support of others. Build a team that uses the energy you share to become productive and positive every day. Make sure your team takes home more than just the flu bug!

What are Some of the More Serious Problems in the US?

October 3rd, 2008

As the coordinator for the Online Think Tank, we often ask new applicants discover financial challenges do they feel are most pressing, what problems do they see as paramount to New Hampshire Lemon Laws and exactly what concerns do they wish to alleviate? The other day, one of the applicants wrote a short list of nine items the he felt were things that the Online Think Tank should be hard drive recovery service into and that he would want to work on too:

  • 1.) Drug and gang problems.
  • 2.) Local government and law enforcement inadequate.
  • 3.) Border security.
  • 4.) Foreign oil dependence.
  • 5.) Radical Islam.
  • 6.) War.
  • 7.) Politicians.
  • 8.) The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America
  • 9.) Council on Foreign Relations.

He also stated that he considered it to be selfish not to take action. Yes, this makes sense from his perspective although perhaps, we must also realize it would be foolish to take action that causes a worsened problem or leads to unintended consequences, which are far greater to the current challenges right?

Now then, in his list we have the Drug and Gang problems, which are huge, and we know that the current methods of stopping it are not working. We also know that we are filling up our prisons and jails with Idaho Lemon Laws and repeaters, many are not even legal citizens. Thus, the first problem he has identified is directly related to the third. And the border issue is also tied to Free Trade, and there are issues with Fair Trade, which affects number four (which is definitely linked to 5) and fair trade and free trade is all about number 8 also, which indeed affect number 9 too, which leads to political impasse affecting number 6 and the local enforcement are overwhelmed by it all number 2.

Sounds like all his issues are all “ONE” and they are all inter-related and linked, aren’t they? So, in fact to fix these problems we should be looking at them all together rather than in a linear item-by-item fashion. We must get at the root of the problems first, what say you?

Nautical Star Tattoos The History, Meaning And Symbolism - What A Strange Mix!

October 1st, 2008

The history, meaning and symbolism of nautical star tattoos Benzodiazepines
a hotly debated topic. Today many different groups have
adopted Antipsychotic Therapy Nautical star tattoo as a symbol for their own
movement and they have all ascribed their own meaning and
history to the symbol. Thus has lead to a wide
disagreement as the the meaning of the tattoo.Historically
most everyone agrees that Sailors were the first people to get
nautical star tattoos. In fact the very word nautical
relates back to sailing. So buyer structured settlement connection has been
pretty firmly established. Most people would agree the
sailors were a pretty superstitious group historically and
sailor lore abounds with superstitious and fantastical stories
of life and death and being lost at sea. Early on
sailors navigated by the stars at night and the north star
became the symbol for finding ones way home. Once lump sum distribution
know where the north star is you can point your ship in the
right direction to get home. So the star became a symbol
for finding ones way home or more symbolically even finding
ones path in life. Therefore many sailors would tattoo
nautical stars on their forearms as a good luck symbol in
hopes of returning home.

However their modern day meaning is a more debated topic.
Many believe that groups including gay and lesbians, punk
rockers and those in the military have adopted the nautical
star tattoo as a very important symbol. The diversity of
these three groups has lead many to argue the meaning of their
tattoos.

For the military the connection is pretty obviously point
back to the early sailors and the symbolism and meaning is the
same as the early sailors. Many military people get a
nautical star tattoo as a symbol for finding ones path home
safely. Of course this can also include more
symbolically just finding ones way in life.

Here is a quote we found from a member of the armed
services and his interpretation of the tattoo:

“I am in the United States Army, an MP who searched towns
and villages for Al Quida and insurgents. I was in Iraq for 1
year. I have a red and black nautical star on my wrist. The
reason I got it was because when I was out there, I felt it
was a guide to guide me home to my family safely. I got it so
that it would remind me that I am going to make it to see my
son grow up. I am not gay, it doesn’t matter what you believe
it represents, it means something different for everyone. Out
in the desert, I would look up at the stars and think about
home. So anyone can think what they want to, that is what it
means to me. “

Punk rockers have also adopted this as a popular symbol to
have tattooed. The punk movement traces its history and
use of the nautical star tattoo back to Sailor Jerry.
Sailor Jerry is historically impotence help one of the most famous tattoo
artists ever. He was well known for his innovative and
“cool” designs. Punks have taken this symbol and it has
very much the same meaning of finding one way in life.
Being the rugged individualists type Punks are drawing to the
symbolism of true north and finding one own unique way in
life. So the Nautical star has become a symbol for this.
You see many punk bands that have full sleeve tattoos
typically incorporate nautical star tattoos either on their
elbows or elsewhere.

The lesbian and gay connection is the one that does not
seem so obvious at first. Historically back in the
1940’s and 50’s when alternative lifestyles were not the norm
and often women had to hide their alternative choices they
would sport a hidden nautical star. Often they would get
the star tattoo done on the inside of their wrist where it
could easily be hidden by a watch during the day but shown off
in the evening when out on the town. Today many lesbians
where the nautical star tattoo to show their connection with
their early pioneering sisters. Here is a little
evidence to support my points.

“Here’s the passage (with some pieces dropped) from “Boots
of Leather, Slippers of Gold: The History of a Lesbian
Community” by Elizabeth Lapovsky Kennedy and Madeilne D. Davis
copyright 1993 p. 189.

(talking about the 1940’s and 1950’s):

“…During this same time period, the cultural push to be
identified as lesbians- or at least different- all the time
was so powerful that it generated a new form of identification
among the tough bar lesbians: a star tattoo on the top of the
wrist, which was usually covered by a watch. This was the
first symbol of community identity that did not rely on
butch-fem imagery. We can trace this phenomenon back to an
evening of revelry in the late 1950’s, when a few butches
trooped over to “Dirty Dick’s” tattoo parlor on Chippewa
Street and had the tiny blue five-pointed star put on their
wrists. Later, some of the fems of this group also go the idea
one night and did it…The community views the tattoo as a
definite mark of identification…”the Buffalo police knew
[that] the people that had the stars on their wrist were
lesbians and they had their names and so forth. That it was an
identity thing with the gay community, with the lesbian
community”. The fact that the star tattoo was created by those
who were firmly into roles, in fact by the group that was
considered the butchy butches and their fems, suggest that the
force to assert lesbian identity was strong enough to break
through the existing traditions of boldness based in butch-fem
roles. The stars presage the methods of identity created by
gay liberation. In fact, the mark has become something of a
tradition in local circles and has seen a revival since the
1970s.”

This meaning of the symbol has of course created a lot of
problems and arguments among the other two groups of bearers
of nautical stars. Most puck and military people do not
want to have a nautical star that points back to anything from
the lesbian movement so many will say that there is no
connection there and this is false.

Here is a quote from another armed forces member about the
symbolism of the nautical star among the gay community:

“This “gay symbol” is a load of hooey that someone made up
VERY recently. The nautical star tattoo has been around nearly
as long as tattooing itself. The late Celts (or early Irish,
depending on your view of World History) were said to have
been the first to have the tattoos, although evidence of it
being used on ships in Spain has been found pre-dating the
Irish claim.

As a Marine, it’s a very commonplace symbol amongst us if
we have been part of a Boat Raid company, red for port, green
for starboard on varying parts of the body. On ship, I saw
about a million different variations on the Sailors I was was
serving with, obviously harking back to the sailor roots.”

Here is a quote from a punk rocker and his feelings about
the symbolism of the tattoo:

“what idiots..even the military boys dont know what it
really means….JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW!!!!!it was used by OLD
sailors.. and the symbol represents North on a Map …and it
is the North Star the sailors would use it as a baring to get
home….you can find it on Really really old maps and old navy
vessels… Punk Rock.. well we use it because we can and
because Sailor Jerry made the coolest tattoos who started
putting them on everyone.. my grandfather even had one thus
being used as a traditional icon”

It just goes to show that when the same powerful symbol is
used over and over again over decades of time it can taken on
very different meanings for different groups. So all of
those that you see sporting a nautical star tattoo might not
all have the same interpretation of its symbolism.

So do you have a nautical star tattoo or think about
getting one in the future? Which meaning of the symbol
will you get the nautical star for? As long as you know
what the symbolism behind the star is for and you have gotten
it for the right reason to either support the lesbian movement
or as a symbol to finding your way!

Ghost Minimoto Moto GP Reps - What Are They?
